This project came with challenging existing conditions and a high degree of overall design & building complexity, which was acknowledged when the project received the highest honour from SPASA, the National Spa of the Year Award. The design cleverly integrates the spa zone into the outdoor dining area without the need for pool fencing, because the outside wall of the spa itself forms the pool compliant barrier.

The upper level lounge zone creates a space to socialise with those in the spa, and in turn each zone feels linked to the next, bringing fluidity and connectedness to the design. This spa makes a statement without overdoing things – in fact, the muted materials palette and restrained approach to the surrounds gives the garden as a whole an understated feel.
